So I’m in the University of Pittsburgh’s Big Idea Competition today from 1 PM – 9 PM.  It’s an honor to be included as a finalist, and I’m working like a dog on my project!  I’ll definitely be back to blogging on Thursday, though, with a special post to thank you for your patience, so be sure not to miss it! 🙂
That said, I thought I’d use this time off to tell you about an awesome company I did some freelance blogging for in March, Insurance Zebra. Â I’m definitely not getting paid to say this now, but this Pittsburgh-based start-up company is awesome. Â They’re essentially doing for car insurance what Expedia did for travel.
Insurance Zebra allows for you to instantly compare car insurance quotes from up to 15 insurers.  Even better, they give instant quotes, so if you’re on the car lot deciding between a 2010 Honda Civic and a 2011 Toyota Corolla, they can tell you the car insurance rates for both within two minutes.  On your mobile or your laptop.  Pretty sweet.
I learned a lot about car insurance from briefly working at Insurance Zebra – for instance, did you know that you can get a discount on your insurance by signing up for autopay?  Or paying every 6-12 months rather than monthly?  Even some occupations – like farmers – get discounts from certain insurers.  There were all kinds of crazy things that can qualify you for auto insurance discounts, making a service like Insurance Zebra‘s really useful to the car insurance customer.
Anyway, I hope that this completely unrelated post does not annoy any of my regular readers!  Insurance Zebra just launched 2 days ago, and I believe that they’re providing a high-quality service some my readers might like to hear about, and hopefully check out if they’re in the market to buy a car or change insurers.
We’ll be back to our regularly-scheduled beauty programming on Thursday!  See you guys and gals then!  🙂
