I’ve always been fanatical about keeping the skin of the body healthy — it’s important to maintain it! Despite the fact that UV light causes 80 percent of the visible signs of aging, your body’s skin still slows its production of firming collagen and elastin, hydrating oils and sebum, and free radical-fighting antioxidants with time. The result? Loose, thin, dry, sagging, unhealthy skin.

That’s why I’m a little obsessed with my Fulom Face and Body Cleanser ($28.40, FulomSkin.com). With a relatively high concentration of super antioxidant fulvic acid and nice, mildly acidic pH that won’t disrupt your skin’s delicate acid mantle (most body washes and soaps are slightly alkaline), PLUS the SUPER HUGE tube, I’ll be keeping Fulom Face and Body Cleanser right outside my shower for years to come!

Fulvic Acid

Fulvic Acid FutureDerm

Fulvic acid is a hydrating anti-aging ingredient, and one of my top new picks for 2015.

Fulvic acid is also known in the scientific community (or amongst people who love antioxidants) for being anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory (Drug Development Research, 2001; Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, 2000).

This may explain why fulvic acid effectively treats symptoms of dry skin, redness, irritation, and inflammation associated with contact dermatitis (Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, 2000), psoriasis (Karr), and eczema (Clinical, Cosmetic, and Investigative Dermatology, 2011).

Free-Radical-FutureDerm

I’m excited about fulvic acid in Fulom Face and Body Cleanser because fulvic acid is a very potent free-radical scavenger in preliminary studies, so much that many scientists suspect that it may have significant anti-aging effects against fine lines, wrinkles, and skin sagging (Laub Bio Chem).

Cocamidopropyl Betaine

Natural Based Surfactants Gentle Coconut

Derived from coconuts, cocamidopropyl betaine is a surfactant.

Surfactants are the ingredients in soaps that cause them to foam and help to remove dirt. Cocamidopropyl betaine is relatively gentle and does not upset the delicate acid mantle of the skin.

Wait, What About the Orange Oil?!

I’m not a fan of leave-on products with orange oil, because it can be photosensitizing. But in a rinse-off product like Fulom Face and Body Cleanser, it provides a nice mild fragrance and antioxidant boost.

Personal Use and Opinions

Fulom Moisturizing Face & Body Cleanser

In the shower, I apply a thick layer of Fulom Face and Body Cleanser all over, and I wait a few minutes before rinsing off. (This may be too personal, but during that time, I shampoo my hair.) This allows the ingredients to penetrate the skin, rather than simply be rinsed off.

Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a sensational body treatment that won’t break the bank in one use, try Fulom Face and Body Cleanser. It has a high concentration of organic fulvic acid, and coconut-based cleansing agents that leave the skin soft and smooth. For best results, leave on for a full minute before rinsing!
