Holiday 2014 Gift Guide: The Techie Guy

Share Article

Buying my boyfriend holiday gifts is like trying to buy a gift for a duck. Not that I’m comparing my boyfriend to a duck, but it’s the emotion the question evokes: What in the world do you buy for him?! It seems like he already has everything needs to work, play, or relax (or swim, waddle, or quack — just continuing the analogy here…)

Luckily, I’ve spent hours this season exploring the best options for a smart, savvy guy that doesn’t need much. So here is my holiday gift guide for your favorite techie guy:

Amazon Fire Great Gifts for Tech Guys

1- Amazon Fire TV ($84.00, Amazon.com). Sometimes I feel like I need a doctorate just to select my favorite shows using OnDemand. (Sorry, Comcast, but it’s true). But with Amazon Fire TV, you can enjoy Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, YouTube, games, music, and more — all with the touch of a button or the sound of your voice. The mini device will allow you or your guy to stream over 200,000 TV episodes, movies, songs, and games. It’s like the gift that keeps on giving. Plus, it’s simple to use, and so high-tech for 2014.

iPhone Gold

2 – iPhone 6 Gold ($849.00, Amazon.com). Showing up with an iPhone on Christmas for a techie guy is like showing up with a Oscar de la Renta shift dress for a fashionista — it’s classic, luxurious, and sure to delight the recipient. The new version has an improved screen, upgraded camera and Apple Pay feature, where you can pay with your iPhone using Touch ID in selected stores and apps. Definitely a must-have for your favorite tech guy!

trubrain drink

3 – truBrain Brain Health Drink ($99.00, truBrain.com). An product designed by UCLA neuroscientists Dr. Andrew Hill and Dr. Aida Aittar, truBrain is designed to give you the edge of focused cognitive performance without caffeine, energy drinks, or drugs. Containing all-natural ingredients, truBrain boosts nutrients and modulators that are scientifically-proven to help your brain health. I’m a huge fan of this drink — it’s safe, all-natural, and gives me a healthy boost without that “jolt” or taxing my liver with tons of caffeine or chemicals. Read more about it here.

FitBit

4- Fitbit Charge Wireless Activity Wristband ($129.99, Amazon.com). There are the things your guy knows he does: Goes to work, plays volleyball in a rec league, drives, sleeps, spends time with you. And then there are those things that are just habitual: Walking, climbing stairs, and burning calories subconsciously. The Fitbit Charge Wireless Activity Wristband tracks them all, and with the Fitbit app. he can access his stats anytime, anywhere, while on the go. It’s definitely a fun techie way to help a man get back into shape or give a boost to his existing fitness plan.

Label Writer

5 – DYMO Label Writer 450 Turbo Thermal Label Printer ($84.99, Amazon.com). You might think I’m a little out of my mind to recommend a label printer as a gift, but bear with me here: Techie guys often tend to digitize their outer world just as much as their, well, computer one. And just like there are files online, your favorite techie guy can use this to put labels on everything from his CD collection to his finances. The label writer allows him to create and print up to 71 address, shipping, file folder and barcode labels per minute. It is also approved by the US Postal Service, so it saves time when shipping packages!

Whether your guy is a hardcore techie or just into the occasional gadget, I hope you enjoyed this post!

A special thanks to truBrain, whom I teamed up with to bring you this post. They’re one of my favorite natural brands, and I would not have partnered with them if I didn’t know, love, and believe in their product 100%.
