New REVALÉSKIN® Intense Recovery Treatment Review – New Formula with 1.5% CoffeeBerry® Extract!

Share Article

There are just a few skin care lines from which you get great results within a week, and REVALÉSKIN® is one of them.  The line features CoffeeBerry®, an antioxidant that has been found to have a greater antioxidant capacity than any other on the market in the U.S. today (Skin and Aging, 2007), including ten times the antioxidant capacity of green tea.  The reason is two-fold:  One, CoffeeBerry® contains an extremely high concentration of polyphenols, particularly chlorogenic acid, which alone is a potent antioxidants, according to renowned research dermatologist Dr. Leslie Baumann  (source).  Two, unlike other antioxidants, CoffeeBerry® works throughout the entire skin cell, while the activity of most other antioxidants is limited to specific areas of the cell.

Why are Antioxidants Important?

Antioxidants are important components in the fight against aging. Without antioxidants, factors like sun exposure and pollution cause the skin to release free radicals, which destroy collagen, one of the proteins that keeps skin looking firm and lifted.   The body naturally produces antioxidants or acquires them from food or supplementation.  However, antioxidant levels may be increased in the skin via topical application.

Does REVALÉSKIN® Help With Signs of Aging As Well?

Yes, the effects of CoffeeBerry® are more than just preventative. According to clinical results, the texture and tone of the skin treated with CoffeeBerry extract showed 46 per cent improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, 64 per cent in overall skin smoothness, and 79 per cent in skin hydration (American Academy of Dermatology meeting, 2006).

The reason? CoffeeBerry® contains exfoliating polyhydroxy acids, which help the user see almost immediate improvement. Studies additionally confirm that the ingredient is safe and effective for dry skin and skin discoloration (source: Revale Skin).

REVALÉSKIN® Intense Recovery Treatment Use and Opinions

REVALÉSKIN® Intense Recovery Treatment has a light texture, suitable for all skin types.  REVALÉSKIN® Intense Recovery Treatment also absorbs into the skin fairly quickly, making it suitable for cosmetics use shortly after application.  Interestingly, REVALÉSKIN® Intense Recovery Treatment has a strong (but fresh) scent I found to be pleasant, but which still may not be desired by some users, particularly the men!

I’ve heard through word of mouth REVALÉSKIN® Intense Recovery Treatment is useful for acne and hyperpigmentation, but there is little evidence at this time supporting either of these claims.  I personally found REVALÉSKIN® Intense Recovery Treatment great and calming for my sensitive skin, and I thought that I noticed my skin seemed smoother and softer after the first week, and an increase in brightness after about one month.

Bottom Line

There are few products better than REVALÉSKIN® Intense Recovery Treatment for sensitive skin, and absolutely no single antioxidant is more potent.  With that said, I would suggest using REVALÉSKIN® Intense Recovery Treatment under sunscreen every morning, because the polyphenols in CoffeeBerry® have been shown to boost UV protection even more (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2010).

I’ve concluded that the six best ingredients in skin care right now are sunscreen, retinoids, alpha and beta hydroxy acids, niacinamide, peptides, and antioxidants like  CoffeeBerry®.   I definitely think daytime is the best time to use REVALÉSKIN® Intense Recovery Treatment, but REVALÉSKIN® Intense Recovery Treatment is also light enough to be tolerated over a retinoid or peptide treatment at night for some skin types as well.  Talk to your dermatologist if you have concerns.
