Products I Take With Me When I Travel

Share Article

As we’re about to step into July, summertime has officially begun – time for vacation!

Although most of the time I admittedly work a lot, I do enjoy escaping and flying away for a couple of days with my husband and son (after all, work-life balance is key for productivity!). As we all know, the more sunshine we are exposed to means all the more necessary protection and restoration become for the skin. So I tend to be extra picky when it comes to products I bring with me on vacation.

When I pick which products I want to bring, I try to make sure they have these properties:

  • Multi-tasking. It’s ideal when one product has more than one function, so I can avoid bringing a dozen bottles with me. Light packing is such an important thing on vacation.
  • Lightweight texture. Non-greasy, noncomedogenic products really relieve and rescue the skin from the tiredness of work and let us feel the nature.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer SPF 100+

First things first: sunscreen. It’s common sense to have solid UV protection when you are out traveling. [easyazon_link identifier=”B002JAYMEE” locale=”US” tag=”cosmeticswiki-20″]Neutrogena Ultra Sheer SPF 100+[/easyazon_link] is a chemical sunscreen with SPF 100. SPF 100 is proven to block 99% of UV rays and allows you to stay out in the sun for over 5 hours if you have relatively fair skin. Although in my daily routine I go double with a chemical sunscreen under a physical sunscreen, during vacation I prefer skincare simplicity by just applying a powerful high-SPF chemical sunscreen. In addition, thanks to its dry-touch technology, this waterproof sunscreen has a non-greasy texture and rubs in so well that leaves nearly no oily shine on my skin. We all deserve a sunscreen like this on vacation.

AmorePacific Dual Cleansers

I bring two cleansing products with me to make sure my skin is free of all the dirt from being outdoors or simply from the sunscreen and makeup I apply. AmorePacific’s dual cleansing system includes an [easyazon_link identifier=”B00ARCNFWQ” locale=”US” tag=”cosmeticswiki-20″]oil cleanser[/easyazon_link] and a [easyazon_link identifier=”B001VBDQBW” locale=”US” tag=”cosmeticswiki-20″]foaming cleanser[/easyazon_link]. The oil powerfully takes away all the makeup and impurities that can clog my pores. I use the oil with dry hands on dry face and massage it in gently so that it melts with my makeup and sunscreen. Then I apply water to my face that can neutralize the oil until it turns into a milky texture. After thoroughly rinsing it off, I continue with the foaming cleanser so that all dirt is removed and ready for the next step in my skincare routine.

Skinceuticals C E Ferulic

Here comes my favorite combination: Ferulic acid + vitamin C and E. Skinceuticals C E Ferulic includes a high concentration of vitamin C at 15% and vitamin E at 1%, combined with 0.5% of Ferulic acid to successfully fight hyperpigmentation and free-radicals. Ferulic acid and vitamin E can strengthen vitamin C’ s protection from UV damage and reduce its instability, which helps eliminate the chance of it becoming less-potent in the heat of a beach bag or suitcase. In addition, this serum also contains a fair amount of hyaluronic acid, which is the well-acclaimed ingredient that makes our skin look radiant and plump. I love how simple this serum’s formula is and how well it actually works. With only 12 ingredients, this serum defends my skin from potential UV damage and replenishes it with active ingredients that work.

Favorite Travel Beauty products: It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation Full Coverage Moisturizer SPF 50

Hydration is key for younger-looking skin. This rule applies to cosmetics too, especially the foundation we use. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation Full Coverage Moisturizer SPF 50 is namely a moisturizer which provides full-coverage that covers pores, redness, and breakouts. Its SPF 50+ broad-spectrum also serves as a physical sunscreen which adds another layer of protection on my chemical sunscreen. Its multi-functionality makes it a no-brainer to bring with me on vacation.

Neova DNA Total Repair Serum

Anti-aging products are something I will never leave behind, no matter what. The time and effort we invest in anti-aging skincare will eventually benefit us back. So Neova DNA Total Repair is another serum I bring. It contains algae extract and shea butter which I both really love. Algae extract demonstrates vitamins’ and amino acids’ ability; it has a remarkable performance on antioxidants, which prevent and reduce the signs of aging. Shea butter, on the other hand, is a commonly used ingredient that serves as an emollient that hydrates the skin and forms an occlusive layer to retain moisture, which makes our skin smooth and soft. Shea butter as fatty acids can also help replenish the skin’s natural barriers and protect it from allergens and irritants. This multi-functional serum allows me to keep up with an antioxidant regimen and smooth my skin to be picture-ready throughout the whole trip.

Favorite Travel Beauty products – FutureDerm Customizable Moisturizer

I customized it myself in our lab, and it has since become my all-time favorite moisturizer. Not only is it made with the most effective and non-irritating ingredients, the amazing thing is I can also adjust the formulas based on my own need. If I know I am flying somewhere drier, I can add more moisturizing ingredients like hyaluronic acid. If I expect myself to have an acne problem because of humidity or food on my destination, I can prevent it by adding more lactic acid. It’s like a miracle wand that keeps my skin at its most beautiful at all times. Trust me, you will want one too!

So, these are the essential items I bring on vacation. I would love to hear from you as well. Share your favorite travel beauty products!
