ViaBuff: A Custom Exfoliator You Need To Try!

Share Article

When I was at the International Esthetics and Spa Conference, one of the most eye-catching products I encountered was the ViaBuff. The foam-laden puffs appear like they are made of colorful floral petals, and I thought they looked and felt so cool!

While there are always new and exciting exfoliating products being debuted on the market, the ViaBuff Exfoliating Buff really works. Like all exfoliators, the ViaBuff Exfoliating Buff promises brighter and softer skin. But unlike other exfoliators, the ViaBuff Exfoliating Buff is made of a special foam that is gentle for your skin and up to three times more durable than similar loofahs and puffs. Most importantly for FutureDerm readers, the ViaBuff Exfoliating Buff is also the first exfoliator that can be customized to meet your skin type and skin concerns:

About the ViaBuff Structure

cell-structure

The ViaBuff Exfoliating Buff is the first exfoliating buff known to use safe, durable urethane foam instead of plastics or plant-based materials.

Many loofahs add plant-based ingredients which can accelerate mold growth. Viabuff’s cellular material has no plant-based additives, thus limiting the likelihood of mold growth. If your buff is exposed to mold or other contaminants, the ViaBuff Exfoliating Buffs can be washed and air-dried, which is definitely a benefit for when the buff is left in your shower.

What is equally as important as material is the weave of the material. That is, all exfoliators are made of either an open or closed weave. An open weave has more space between the cloth fibers and makes for a gentler scrub, thus it is best for dry or sensitive skin. A closed weave has closer, tighter fibers and is more abrasive.

With the ViaBuff Exfoliating Buff you select which “weave” is best for your skin type and skin concerns:

  • Level 1: Extra Gentle (Purple) — Open Weave
Ideal for Oily Skin, Acne, Psoriasis
  • Level 2: Mild (Green)
    Ideal for Normal Skin, Eczema
  • Level 3: Moderate (Pink)
Ideal for Dry Skin, Ingrown Hairs, Keratosis Pilaris, Waxing
  • Level 4: Clinical (White) — Closed Weave
    Ideal for Very Dry Skin

Use with Normal Pressure and Cleansers

I recommend using the ViaBuff for the first time with the typical amount of pressure you use to cleanse and exfoliate your skin. The levels are designed for the average user, so if you have sensitive skin and tend to scrub hard, you may want to ease up a bit. Conversely, if you have coarse skin and scrub delicately, dig in a little more so you get the best effects.

In general, I tend to scrub my sensitive skin lightly, and I do very well with using the Level 2 Facial Mini Buff and the Levels 1 and 4 Body Duo Exfoliator nightly. I have heard some ViaBuff users choose to exfoliate weekly, but I find it to be gentle enough to use every night.

I also recommend using your usual cleanser. That way, you know the differences in your skin are attributable to the buff, not to the cleanser.

Bottom Line

The ViaBuff Exfoliating Buffs are custom-designed to leave your skin feeling soft and smooth. Unlike other standard loofahs or exfoliators, there are four levels of facial buffs and over ten combinations of Duo Body Exfoliators! You can find the right exfoliator for your skin type and concerns will leave your skin felt clean and soft. As someone who’s made the mistake of using overly harsh exfoliating products on my face before, I can say that using the Level 2 Facial Mini Buff with a gentle, scrub-free cleanser gave me a smooth, glowing skin without irritation. I also like the Levels 1 and 4 Duo Body Exfoliator, and frequently use the Level 4 on my heels, soles of feet, and my elbows.
