There are a few great things about having Asian heritage: Good skin, thick hair, and a tendency to be on the thin side. There are also some not-so-great things about it, the most significant of which is my stubby eyelashes.
I have used eyelash serums religiously, and false eyelashes intermittently, but my favorite false eyelashes I’ve ever tried are by The Lashe. I discovered them for the first time a few months ago, at the recommendation of a friend who is a makeup artist.
They come in five styles, which I review below.
Style #1: Alexis
Alexis Strip Eyelashes are thick and feminine. This particular style adds dramatic length and volume, and helps the eyes pop.
#2: Zoe Strip Eyelashes
Zoe Strip Eyelashes are ultra natural and a touch whimsical. This particular style will add a subtle amount of length and volume. I consider these to be one of the more natural styles of the collection, but a style which still helps the eyes to stand out more than usual.
#3: Chloe Strip Eyelashes
Chloe Strip Eyelashes are quite feminine. These add a tremendous amount of length, a moderate amount of volume, and add a lot of glamour to the eyes. I would consider these to be glamorous and dramatic.
#4: Daphne Strip Eyelashes
Daphne Strip Eyelashes are ultra thick, whimsical, and very feminine. These lashes add the maximal amount of length and volume to help the eyes pop. They are dramatic and make a bold statement.
#5: Phoebe Strip Eyelashes
Phoebe Strip Eyelashes are probably my favorite of the collection. With a length that fans out most at the outer corners, these lashes add length, volume, and help the eyes pop. I would say they also look surprisingly natural.
Why Mink Eyelashes are Better
Celebrities choose mink eyelashes for a reason! Mink hair provides more length and thickness, and with less weight than human hair, with every strand (Journal of Mammalogy). Mink hair also will withstand more uses than synthetic eyelashes, with mink eyelashes reported to last up to 25 uses from a single set.
At the same time, mink eyelashes are also fine and lightweight enough to include multiple strands (hairs) per lash, which is why The Lashe strip lashes can be quite thick and dense without overloading the eye.
Furthermore, the mink eyelashes used by The Lashe are naturally shed hairs from delicately brushed animals, and the company affirms that no animals are harmed in the making of the lashes.
Bottom Line
If you are interested in fake lashes, you must try The Lashe!
